Marlene Sampson

Marlene is a consultant, facilitator, trainer, and coach. She joined Fourth Wave Strategy in 1998 and since then her project experience spans a broad spectrum. She has led many public, private and not for profit organizations, individuals and teams through the creation of their plans for the future. She is recognized for her skill in designing innovative processes that ensure the diverse needs and interests of a wide variety stakeholder groups are addressed.

Prior to joining Fourth Wave, Marlene was a faculty member at the Advanced Management Centre, Dalhousie University and Assistant Dean at Henson College. During her tenure several of the professional development programs she designed received national recognition. In 1996 Canadian Business Magazine profiled a highly successful entrepreneurial development program that Marlene designed, and recognized her as a mentor to start up entrepreneurs.

Marlene is a member of the International Association of Facilitators and the networking group of Mediation Training Institute International. In addition to her formal education in Business Administration and Economics at MSVU, she has studied Adult Education at SFX and holds certificates from the NTL Institute in Facilitating and Managing Complex System Change, Human Resource Development, and Strategic Management. She is also a certified Myers Briggs Type Indicator practitioner and has completed the Negotiation and Conflict Management Program at Dalhousie University.

Marlene enjoys wearing out her hiking boots and putting lots of miles on her kayak, bike and cross country skis.
